About Energy Rebate Calculator
Energy Rebate Calculator is a free resource designed to help American homeowners navigate the complex landscape of energy rebates and incentives following the significant policy changes of 2025.
Why We Built This
When the One Big Beautiful Bill terminated federal tax credits (Sections 25C and 25D) effective December 31, 2025, millions of homeowners lost access to familiar incentive programs. But energy rebates didn't disappear entirely — they shifted to state-level programs, particularly HOMES and HEAR, plus hundreds of utility-specific incentive programs.
The problem? Finding out what you actually qualify for became significantly harder. Each state runs its own programs with different timelines, eligibility rules, and application processes. Utility rebates vary by provider. Income thresholds use Area Median Income calculations that differ by county.
We built Energy Rebate Calculator to cut through this complexity and give homeowners a clear answer: what rebates can I get, and how much can I save?
What We Cover
- HOMES Rebates — $2,000 to $8,000 for energy efficiency improvements
- HEAR/HEEHRA Rebates — Up to $14,000 for electrification upgrades
- State Programs — State-specific incentive programs across all 50 states
- Utility Rebates — Programs from major electric utilities that stack with federal rebates
- Expired Programs — What changed and what you can still claim on 2025 tax returns
How Our Calculator Works
Select your state, enter your approximate household income, and choose the improvements you're considering. Our calculator cross-references federal program data, state-level program status, and known utility incentives to estimate your total available rebates.
