Energy Rebates by State

Federal tax credits (25C & 25D) ended December 31, 2025 under the One Big Beautiful Bill. But HOMES and HEAR rebate programs are still available, administered by individual states. Select your state below to see what programs, rebates and utility incentives you can take advantage of in 2026.

Understanding State-Level Energy Rebates

HOMES Rebates

The Home Owner Managing Energy Savings program provides $2,000-$8,000 for whole-home energy efficiency improvements. Amount depends on your income level and energy savings achieved. Each state runs its own program with different timelines and requirements.

HEAR / HEEHRA Rebates

The Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates program covers specific equipment upgrades: heat pumps (up to $8,000), electrical panels ($4,000), wiring ($2,500), water heaters ($1,750), insulation ($1,600), and stoves ($840). Income-dependent, up to $14,000 total.

Utility Programs

Many electric utilities offer their own rebate programs that stack on top of federal programs. These vary widely by provider. Some offer $1,000-$8,500+ for heat pump conversions and other energy improvements.
